SUITING UP FOR 2019
Feels like just yesterday when we went away for NYE, and here we are again. Celebrating the new year has always been somewhat of a challenge when deciding what to do, the social pressure of having to be at the coolest party or deciding on going to a restaurant and paying ridiculous amounts for a reservation or when you have the stress of being alone with no one to kiss when the clock strikes midnight. The FOMO is real.
I must be getting older as I long for simpler things this time of year, after-all it’s a time to reflect. I’ve defiantly had a few terrible NYE experiences where it was just an epic fail of a night, so to avoid all the pressure of these festivities, myself and Worrick just found our own way of doing NYE, randomly find a wine estate or BNB that’s just under an hour drive from the city and we find the best way to make the most of our day and evening, the best part is everyone’s in the city so these places are so quite hardly any guest and we get to enjoy our stay and sometimes a whole wine estate to ourselves.
This time we spent our NYE at Laborie Estate in Paarl, spent the afternoon at the pool, had dinner at the Hassar Grill and fell asleep before the count down. Was so chilled I loved every minute of it.
So here we are in 2019. I cannot say I feel a difference, a somewhat transition like I normally do, it just feels like the last 3 years have blended into each other. I’m not into new year resolutions but I will say I always set goals for the year ahead and find great satisfaction when ticking them off my list.
These are few random things I have on my mind for this year.
2019 goals
Focus more on my blog. its very challenging to have full time job and blog but i know i just need to manage my time better, i enjoy blogging and want to post a lot more this year.
Wake up earlier, its very hard when your really not a morning person, but i have a busy life so i don’t really have a choice because i need more time in the day.
Traveling abroad, excluding work trips would be so-great to go away with worrick as we have never traveled together so before we get married need to tick that off our to do list.
starting a new business and growing our current business,I’ve been thinking about it for years now and definitely think it’s now or never super excited to start my own range. I have started up a few side projects before but this time want to take it more seriously. im not sure when this will be launching but its in the woodworks.Watch this space.
Letting go of negative people. don’t serve any purpose in my life, unfortunately the road to success can be very lonely. Not everyone understands what it takes to be successful or to push to achieve your goals and follow your dreams it’s not about trying to be better than the next person its about wanting to do better than the last version of yourself and constantly improving for personal growth. this year im focusing on the people who support me and want to see me grow.
try and be more consistent in everything i do instead of being consistently inconsistent, its such a struggle for me.
read more books. i used to be a bookworm until now where all i have time to read through is magazines and emails. that needs to change,i really want to read more and will be getting into Ebooks this year so i can read on the go.
Anywho that’s all for now because this list can really go on forever. wishing you all the best for this year ahead, if there’s anything you really want for yourself, there’s no time but now to make it happen, cheers to making all our dreams come true.
